Yom Kippur, like Rosh Hashanah, eclipses the intermediate days, the 10 days of Penitence, when the real work needs to be done if we are to have a successful season. In many ways Rosh Hashanah is a time of conflicting messages. Are we celebrating, or are we contemplating? The answer is yes! There is no holiday as emotionally complex, an spiritually ambiguous as Rosh Hashanah. Tonight we will ritually unpack how to integrate these seemingly conflicting emotions into a rich, rewarding experience of being truly renewed.
