Welcome back talmidim and talmidot!!!

in this double parsha we have arrived at the end of Moshe's life - it is the seventh of Adar. Moshe gathers all of the people of Israel together and renews the brit with Hashem. After warning the Am against idol worship and exhorting us about the blessing and the curse he promises us that ultimately there will be a "happy ending" for us all- we will eventually repent and there will be a Redemption.

Moshe also summons Yehoshua before the people and tells him to take courage and be strong. the mitsva of "hakhel"(gathering together after the 7th year of Shemita in yerushalayim during Sukkot) is given over. Moshe and Yehoshua are commanded to write the Torah and teach the people and the Torah would be a constant reminder of who we are. the parshiot conclude with the beginning of the "song" haazinu. much to learn and much to understand in these parshiot!
