Course Description
This course is intended for beginning students and those with little experience learning Jewish texts. The object of this course is to begin building an infrastructure of both grammar and textual skills for independent study. In this course you will learn more about how to uncover the roots of Hebrew words, learn vowel patterns, word constructions, vocabulary, and grammar fundamentals. The course of study brings the learning of Hebrew texts down to a rudimentary level in an exciting and simple to understand way, enabling the student to easily grasp the mechanics of the language. The method will show how the language can be broken down, making it user-friendly, fun, and accessible to the student.

About Mrs. Osnat Goldman
Mrs. Goldman has served as an adult educator in Jerusalem for many years in Torah learning centers such as Midreshet Rachel and Aish HaTorah. Through her love of teaching and sharing Torah with others, Mrs. Goldman has developed an innovative and successful method of using basic biblical grammar and textual skills to discover the beauty and intricacies of Torah. Using this method, Mrs. Goldman has created a condensed learning seminar, titled "A Taste of Torah Text," which has been well received in various communities abroad.

Dear Students,

We will be working on roots and how to see them conjugated in the infinitive form(using your active structure sheet #3 ) and how to conjugate them into the infinitive form in the paal structure #1 .

I'm uploading for you a list of Hebrew roots.

The right hand column has the infinitive Lishmor on the top

and underneath it  16 roots with their meanings to the left of them. Take the first 4 (or as many as you would like of the 16 roots and add the lamed before the 1st letter of the root and the exact  vowel pattern under the infinitive lishmor. For example: the root bet, daled, kof with the lamed before it and the vowel pattern would be livdok. Do whatever you can I will explain and review it with you tomorrow.

Good luck!

Dear Students, Tomorrow is the beginning of our semester, albeit short but long enough to begin building your infrastructure of skills. I would love to get to know a little bit about you, so a short note of what skills you do or don't have will be helpful. One of the questions I have, is do all of you read Hebrew?? I will be sending you resource material that we will make user friendly together. Please have pen, stapler and highlighters on hand. I'm looking forward to working together!! Osnat Goldman
