Baruch Sterman received his doctorate in Physics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and for the past twenty years, he has been a leading technologist, entrepreneur and executive in the Israeli high-tech sector.
Baruch is recognized as a world expert in Tekhelet and ancient dyeing, and is co-founder of the Ptil Tekhelet Association. His book, The Rarest Blue (Lyons Press, 2012), which details the history and science of Tekhelet, won the Jewish Journal Book Prize-2013.
Baruch has lectured throughout the world on the subject of Tekhelet. He writes extensively on topics relating to Science and Religion and his articles have appeared in publications such as Tradition, Journal of Halacha and Contemporary Society, B’Ohr Hatorah, The Jerusalem Post, and Biblical Archeology Review.

True Blue: The Story of the Loss and Rediscovery of the Mitzvah of Tekhelet
Weaving together Torah, archaeology, chemistry, biology, halacha and history, this course delves into the many aspects of the beautiful mitzvah of Tekhelet, its loss and recent revival, as well as its significance and meaning both in ancient times and today. The exciting multimedia presentation, which includes an option for an at-home dyeing experiment, is given by the founders of Ptil Tekhelet, the leading authorities on the topic.

The 4-part series will meet Sundays, at 11:00am EST, beginning March 20, 2016. It will also be recorded for later viewing.
