Tachanun: Tachanun Event
Class description

Hello Everyone,

I am writing to welcome you to the series of three shiurim on the Tachanun prayer. In these shiurim we will discuss the place and structure of the Tachanun prayer. We will see that it has evolved over time. The Gemara does not provide a text for it. For that matter it is not even referred by the name “Tachanun.” Rather the Gemara refers to (in Aramaic) a prayer said “.בנפילת אפים”  With the passage of time a fixed text said while “falling on our faces” arose amd that prayer is referred to as “Tachanun.”

I look forward to meeting with you tomorrow.

I also wish to invite anyone who has suggestions, or comments, or questions about the classes to write to me. My e-mail address is fish9999@gmail.com
